Oh, hello there my dear old blog. I know I have neglected you as of the last year, but I’ve come to rectify that. What better way of doing so than to make my first blog of my first wedding back from maternity leave? Krista and Andrew had a pink and gold preppy wedding affair at Castle Hill Cider, which is nestled right outside of Charlotesville’s hoping little town. It’s a gorgeous venue with Blue Ridge Mountain views, a huge and gorgeous barn (this is not your typical farm barn), and a lake just a hop skip away from where the party is! It was a beautiful and unforgettable first wedding back! Krista was stunning in her lace mermaid dress, oh and don’t get me started on her veil … I love cathedral veils, not like, but love. I believe her new sister-law-in said it best during her speech that Krista’s side of the family is obsessed with their blue eyes, and for good reason too. Edited these images I could not help but stop and stare for a moment at her stunning blue eyes that seem to pop out in every image. Not only is she stunning, she’s also so sweet too and planned this day to perfection! Andrew also is sweet as they come. I adored watching him adore her all day. You could see him following her infectious smile throughout the day and every time she laughed he couldn’t help but have a big ol’ smile on his face.
Krista and Andrew’s wedding had so many fun, romantic, and beautiful moments to it, There are two different parts of their wedding stuck out most though. The ceremony being the first one as with only ten minutes left of the ceremony the skies poured down on us. I threw my camera bag under a nearby umbrellas, grabbed one of their ceremony fans to cover my lens and began clicking away. Krista had just finished her vows as this began and Andrew pulled out his paper and as he began reading his vows the paper started falling apart right there from the rain. It’s hands down my favorite sequence of ceremony photographs ever as Krista and everyone else’s around burst out laughing as Andrew is trying SO hard to hold the paper together to get through his vows. By the end of it though you see him staring at the ground where his paper fell, wet and torn apart. He did a wonderful job holding it together! My second favorite part happened during the reception. They had hired an AMAZING band, and I realized after the fact I had worked with them last October (seriously, the leading female vocalist- whoa!), and Andrew surprised everyone by hoping on stage and singing a song for Krista and their guests. He’s really good! So to wrap it up, as you can tell I love the spontaneous moments that lead to the best genuine reactions, and the moments of the day where my couple’s get to have the time of their lives!
Krista and Andrew, I hope you have been LOVING married life. You two are amazing people and I am so honored that you asked me to document such a beautiful day for the two of you.
